Overview
Rapeseed honey is harvested from the vast oilseed rape fields that bloom across Lithuania in late spring. It is prized by food manufacturers because it is high in glucose, which makes it crystallise quickly into a fine, smooth, almost white paste. That rapid, even set is exactly what you want for creamed honey, spreadable retail jars and baking applications where a firm, pale texture is the goal.
The taste is mild and clean rather than strongly aromatic, so it works as a natural sweetener in bakery, confectionery and beverages without overpowering other ingredients. Moisture is held at 18 percent or lower to meet EU standards and protect against fermentation. Supplied in 25 kg buckets, 290 kg drums and 1000 kg IBC containers with a 200 kg minimum order, it suits both pilot runs and continuous industrial supply.
Typical wholesale buyers include creamed-honey producers, industrial bakeries, cereal and granola manufacturers, and private label packers building a set-honey retail range. Because rapeseed honey is one of the most consistent single-flower honeys in Northern Europe, it is a dependable base for large production runs where colour and texture must not vary between batches. If you need a specific crystal fineness or a defined moisture ceiling, tell us and we will match a batch to your specification.
Storage & shelf life
Because rapeseed honey sets fast, plan to process or repack it soon after delivery if you need it in a semi-liquid state. Store at 10 to 20 degrees Celsius in sealed food-grade containers away from light and odours.
Once crystallised it forms a firm, pale block. Gentle warming to around 40 degrees Celsius will soften it, but avoid repeated high-heat cycles, which degrade enzymes and darken the colour. For creamed honey lines the natural fine set is a benefit and needs no reprocessing.
Quality, testing & documentation
Each batch is testable for moisture, HMF, diastase, pesticide residues and antibiotics, with a Certificate of Analysis, veterinary papers and certificate of origin supplied per shipment. Country or retailer-specific panels can be arranged on request.
Customs classification is HS code 0409 00 00. We deliver EXW, FCA or DAP across the EU with a 5 to 10 business day lead time.
